There are no special requirements for a buyer who wants to purchase multiple firearms aside from the need to have a sufficient number of purchase permits issued by the sheriff. However, FFL holders are required to report the sale of two or more handguns, revolvers, or any combination of the two, to any single unlicensed buyer, if the purchase was made on the same day, or successive purchases totaling two or more handguns or revolvers were made within five days, on Form 3310.4 titled “Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Pistols or Revolvers.” This form is not required where the pistols or revolvers are being returned to the same person from whom they were received (I.E. Pawn buy-back.) The purpose of this requirement is to detect illegal activity, and a copy is sent to the ATF, as well as to the local Chief Law Enforcement Officer.
