Will my case be continued?

Justice Beasley of the NC Supreme Court announced announced this morning that the NC Courts System was enacting a plan that will affect court calendars statewide. This plan applies to both civil and criminal matters in Gaston, Mecklenburg, and other counties across the state.

The courts will remain open, but there will be modifications to the court calendar. Most criminal courts have been suspended until April 16, 2020. If you have a criminal matter that is scheduled between March 16, 2020 and April 16, 2020. It is likely that your case will be continued. This includes the vast majority of criminal matters such as traffic, DWI, and drug charges. Additionally, felony cases and jury trials have been suspended during this period.

Our team at The Law Offices of Ronald J. Shook will remain open to serve you in Gaston and Mecklenburg Counties, and to answer any questions or concerns that you might have.
