Representative Cases

  • Gun Owners of America v. Sheriff Garry McFadden – 21CVS12654 – Mecklenburg County, NC
    • Filed a civil complaint in Mecklenburg County Superior Court against Sheriff Garry McFadden for violations of North Carolina Law and The North Carolina State Constitution regarding gun permitting.
    • Outcome – A consent judgement was entered ordering Sheriff McFadden to follow North Carolina Law and the North Carolina State Constitution when processing gun permits.
  • State v. DSW – Gaston County, NC
    • High profile criminal defendant was charged with First Degree Attempted Murder, Destroying Criminal Evidence, and Assault on a Female with a potential maximum sentence of life without parole.
    • Outcome – Negotiated a plea to Discharging a Firearm within an Enclosure to Incite Fear and Possession of Firearm by Felon with a sentence of 30 to 42 months.
  • Williams et al v. Sheriff Garry McFadden – 3:22-cv-630 – US District Court Western District of NC
    • Filed a civil complaint in the US District Court for the Western District of NC against Sheriff Garry McFadden for violations of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.
    • Outcome: This case is currently pending litigation.
